‘3D-Electron Microscopy Studies of Biomedical Macromolecular Complexes’

This Chair will be devoted to the set-up of an electron microscopy laboratory within the Structural Biology and Bicomputing Program at the Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO), which will enable it to accomplish high resolution three-dimensional characterization (3D cryomicroscopy) and in-depth analysis of certain biological macromolecular complexes of paramount relevance in cancer development and progression.

The goal is to introduce and establish a research line to exploit the enormous potential of 3D cryo-electron microscopy, an experimental approach whose results will allow us to study biological complexes in a physiological environment with only small amounts of samples.
