‘Atlas of Spanish Mortality in Small Areas (1984-2004)’

The second Atlas of Mortality in Small Areas of Spain, corresponding to the 1984-2004 period, will build on the contents of the first atlas published by the scientific team in 2001. This new enlarged and updated version overcomes several of the limitations affecting its predecessor. It is not only more comprehensive in scope but will also facilitate three novel results: first, a synthetic overview of how mortality risk has progressed in Spain during the last two decades; second, the distribution of mortality risk in Spain’s largest cities; and, third, a risk assessment of each area within Spanish territory based on a ranking system.
