DESCRIPTION
For Spanish investors deciding their policies, it is not enough to draw on the macro and microeconomic data of the markets where they operate; they must also have a thorough knowledge of how the political class wielding parliamentary power in the region thinks and acts, and what its priorities are; contrasting this position with the opinions held by the public at large. The aim of this research project is to gauge the weakness or strength of Latin American parliaments and the democratic convictions of their members; factors which may alter the economic backdrop and affect the success of the expansion policies set in motion. Parliamentary representatives will accordingly be sounded about their priorities in their countries’ political, economic and social development, to elucidate the context for and predisposition towards European Union and Spanish investment.
