DESCRIPTION
The objectives are:
- to evaluate samples of current family structures to see how supportive they are of healthy psychological development
- to assess the psychological development of the children brought up in these families
- to analyse the association between quality-of-family-life and psychological development variables
- to identify structures recording a poor quality of family life and establish ground plans for family intervention policies; and, finally, to provide objective quality-of-family-life criteria than can serve as guidance for the professionals in charge of placing children in foster homes, adoption, etc.
The project will foreseeably come up with data indicating that new family structures exhibit varying degrees of quality of family life, and that these differences owe not to the structure of the family itself but to mediating variables linked to this structure.
