These range from indirect impacts like the development of e-commerce, to how new technologies are being applied in the transport sector itself; for instance, the implementation of intelligent transport systems. The effects of these changes are examined with reference to multiple variables: demand and modal distribution, the siting of businesses and residential developments, costs, etc. Finally, a study is undertaken of their environmental impact.
