The project’s specific taskload includes:

• Confirmation of the recent dynamism of medium-sized Spanish cities, with development of a situational typology.
• Identification of valid case studies for analyzing the possible relations between the competitiveness of local companies and their innovation effort.
• The study of cities specializing in industrial activities with a high risk of delocalization.
• Development of a research methodology that supports comparative studies as well as future enlargement of the case set.
• Production of a good practice catalogue for the establishment and consolidation of local innovation systems in medium-sized cities.
