DESCRIPTION
It will look at both existing minorities and the new immigrant groups now settling in Europe. Immigration can either add to or detract from political and social cohesion, so attention is paid to the implications of recognising and enforcing basic rights.
As Europe becomes more and more a society of immigrants, without the majorities we know today, the challenge will be to integrate immigrants and emerging minorities while respecting their individual and collective rights as well as the shared values of the receiving society.
