Here, as in the rest of Western Europe, survey respondents state the lack of a suitable partner as the main factor keeping births below their ideal level, whereas in other parts of the world the predominant causes are of a socio-economic nature. This project aims to provide a current and retrospective trend analysis taking in the first stages of the family formation process (marriage, cohabitation, first child).
