COLLABORATING INSTITUTIONS
DESCRIPTION
It is of interest to determine, from a multidisciplinary standpoint (philosophy, sociology, history and economics), how the modern division of labour has come about and how this process has affected the social integration of time. The objectives pursued in consequence are: to study the main stages of the modern division of labour as models of social integration, identifying the mechanisms driving change; to analyse the time vector in the social integration variants most characteristic of the twentieth century; to diagnose our present cultural situation from different perspectives of human time, with particular regard to the plurality of lifestyles. The idea is to sensitise company managers regarding uses of time as a step towards better reconciling family and work life, especially among the female population.
