‘One-carbon metabolism in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease’

In his time at CIC bioGUNE, Richard Finnell will work with José María Mato’s research group applying a powerful new technology developed in the TIGM research center that Finnell heads, which enables faster, more efficient production of genetically modified mice. This will facilitate study of the role played by various selected genes in the onset and progression of liver diseases, primarily those associated with obesity and excess consumption of alcohol, allowing their validation as possible therapeutic targets.
