The interest of this study lies in the effect that lower fecundity and changes in the age structure of the Spanish and European population will have on the demand for basic, secondary, technical (vocational training) and university education in Spain on a 25- and on a 50-year horizon.

DESCRIPTION

The basic material is provided by time series of demographic variables like the birth rate, fecundity and the masculinity rate, and the number of students at each educational stage in Spain and in other European countries. The specific goals of the research are to forecast the required number of school and university places, and the shape of future demand for qualifications within 25 and 50 years.
