DESCRIPTION
The project team will design and produce a corpus drawing on the semantic attributes or traits of elderly people (sample of Alzheimer’s patients (N=80) and healthy controls (N=50) in the age range from 60 to 90), generated in the theoretical framework of the latest cognitive neuropsychological approaches to semantic deterioration in Alzheimer’s disease and semantic dementia. The choice of a classification system for traits, properties or attributes will also be argued and documented.
The predictive and diagnostic value of this corpus not only makes it a useful work tool for researchers and professionals engaged in the study of elderly health and frailty – geriatric and psychiatric specialists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, social workers, etc., but also of considerable theoretical interest for the cognitive science and neuroscience fields: for psycholinguists and linguists and in computational linguistics.
