Javier Gutiérrez Puebla is Professor of Human Geography at Complutense University of Madrid, Director of the tGIS Research Group (Transport, Infrastructures and Territory) and Director of the EMT-UCM Chair of Cycling Mobility. He focuses his research on GIS (Geographic Information Systems), transportation and urban studies. He has been Director of the Department of Geography, Coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Geographic Information Technology and the PhD Program in Geography at the Complutense University, President of the Geographic Information Technology Group of the Association of Spanish Geographers and Coordinator of the Diploma of Tourism of the Center for Higher Studies Felipe II. Currently he is working on the application of geolocalized Big Data to social research, especially in the field of mobility, tourism and the dynamics of the city.
