What appears to be the exhaustion of the traditional model of banking in addressing the challenges and changes that are taking place in the financial markets is of particular importance today. This research project reflects on some of the main problems raised by the new framework for banking activity. Mergers and acquisitions, the lack of savings, and the different costs of capital required by each market from its national credit institutions are some of the questions addressed.
