‘Virus patógenos’ -co-published with Editorial Hélice- is about the world of the viruses that affect all animals, including human beings. Its coordinators, both with long experience in the teaching of sciences, felt that people were eager for reliable information on scientific matters, and so developed the idea for a reference guide with leading virologists among its contributors.

The result is a handbook that brings together articles by 33 Spanish scientists working in the field. The book comes with a CD-ROM so users can view dynamic aspects of the infectious cycle of each virus family, along with its action mechanisms. It is intended for students in a range of disciplines from biology to medical and veterinary sciences and professionals in these same areas wishing to update their knowledge of pathogenic viruses, but should also find interested readers among the general public.
