Leonardo Grants for Scientific Research and Cultural Creation
The BBVA Foundation’s Leonardo Grants support the work of researchers and cultural creators in the middle stages of their careers who can demonstrate a highly innovative track record in the realms of science, technology or culture.

The program is named after Leonardo da Vinci in honor of the defining qualities of this universal icon of culture, notably a passion for knowledge, the opening-up and exploration of new fields and problems, and the interaction between theoretical and observational or experimental work, as well as dialogue and feedback between the domains of the natural and life sciences, technology, humanities and the arts.
In keeping with their name, the Leonardo Grants are intended to fund individual projects of the applicant’s choice that address significant, novel facets of present-day scientific, technological and cultural objects and issues.
The submission period will run from January 20th, 2026 to March 20th, 2026 at 14:00, Spanish standard time. The application must have been completed in full no later than this date and time.
