This book fits into the field of territorial studies, which have come to take a significant place in the economic analysis of advanced societies. In this case, it descends to a municipal level, enabling more precise demographic studies such as analyses linked to the the location ofeconomic activities in the field.

The study includes a CD which contains the homogeneous series of the 8,108 municipalities contained in the 2001 Census. The information is dated according to each of the eleven censuses carried out by the INE throughout the 20th Century. This enables a detailed analysis of the change in population location models and its initial results are provided in this monography.
