Cultura tecnológica y tecnologías de la información

Social Sciences > Sociology

Computer users represent a rather different group than the average of the Spanish population: male, young, with a higher educational level and more active on the labor market. This is one of the conclusions obtained in this study on the reception of new information technologies. It analyzes factors such as technical literacy, the projection of discoveries, and the interest and expectations raised by technology. The research was carried out via a survey on a sample of Spanish people aged over 14. The aim was to construct a framework of reference for a phenomenon that is driving a profound transformation in professional, business and even personal and household relations and practices: the growing use of low-level computing for personal ends.
