Estudio Fundación BBVA sobre actitudes hacia la inteligencia artificial en España

Social Sciences > Sociology

Artificial intelligence (IA) represents a radical technological innovation that has become the defining technological force of our time, with far-reaching and profound effects – from the economy and the workplace to education, information, culture, entertainment, transportation, security, and the way many professional groups perform their work, even in such eminently knowledge-based professions as scientific and medical practice.

In light of these developments, the BBVA Foundation has conducted a public opinion survey on attitudes toward AI in Spain, designed to provide an early assessment of the public’s views on and use of this technology. The study measures the level of understanding of AI, as well as the expectations, judgments and feelings it evokes, both in aggregate terms and case by case across a wide range of areas and aspects of private life and the public sphere. It also looks at the extent to which individuals have adopted AI tools for different purposes in their daily lives.

The BBVA Foundation’s public opinion studies are characterized by their methodological rigor, comprising representative surveys and analyses that are comparable across countries and over time. They examine social values, attitudes and perceptions regarding areas like science, the environment, political culture, health and technology, among other topics. Their goal is to provide high-quality, independent empirical evidence to help understand social reality and enrich public debate.
