Full details of the series

The term Big Data has become popular in recent years and refers to the production of huge amounts of data. Human activity is captured through multiple networks of sensors and devices, thus leaving a digital footprint. The analysis of this digital footprint is of great value not only for companies, but also for human behavior research. This conference highlights the importance of big data for the study of human activity. Results of different studies are shown that apply geolocated massive data sources (mobile telephony, social networks, bank card transactions, GPS vehicle records, etc.) to the study of the dynamics of the city, particularly in the fields of mobility, tourism and urban studies.
